The garden is a pond garden with the atmosphere of the Muromachi period (1336-1573). It took more than 10 years to complete the garden， which is about 25，000 m2 in area and is mainly composed of red pine trees， five-leaf pine trees， and stones. Please enjoy the garden's scenery with seasonal flowers while listening to the calls of wild birds.

The Jorakuen Garden， renowned as one of the best gardens in the Tohoku region， is a garden with a pond-relief garden by the same gardener who created the famous Kinkakuji Temple in Kyoto.

Enjoy the flowers of the four seasons with all your senses!

Visitors can enjoy beautiful seasonal flowers and plants， such as weeping cherry blossoms and rhododendrons in spring， irises and hydrangeas in summer， and autumn leaves that turn red in fall.

Take a break at a sweet shop!

There is a teahouse attached to the garden， where sweet snacks such as chagashi and oshiruko (sweet red bean paste) and drinks such as coffee are available. We recommend using the teahouse to take a break from touring the garden.
